‘3-year contract’ Bisset, 33.6M guaranteed-FA after 2025 season without option

The size of Bissett’s contract extension has been revealed.

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported on February 10 (Korean time) that the Toronto Blue Jays will sign Beau Bisset to a three-year, $33.6 million contract.

On the 8th, Toronto agreed to a three-year, multi-year contract to avoid salary adjustments with Bissett. It is a contract that covers all three years of Bissett’s remaining service time. Toronto and Bissett do not have to negotiate over salaries for the remaining service time.

According to Rosenthal, Toronto will sign Bissett to a three-year, $33.6 million contract. Including incentives based on the award, the contract size can rise up to $40.65 million, and there is no option clause that extends the contract period. When the 2025 season ends, Bisset will qualify for free agency as scheduled.

Shortstop Bisset, born in 1998, the son of slugger Dante Bisset, who recorded 274 home runs in the major leagues, was nominated by Toronto in the second round of the 2016 rookie draft and raised expectations as a top-notch prospect. He debuted in the big leagues in 2019 and played 4 seasons until last year.

Although he suffered from injuries in the early stages of his debut, Bisset played 159 games in good health for the last two years in a row and won the American League record for most hits for two consecutive years. His last two years were .292/.338/.477 with 53 home runs, 195 RBIs and 38 stolen bases in 318 games. In the 2021 season, he was named an All-Star with 29 home runs and 25 stolen bases.

His total performance in four major league seasons was .297/.340/.491 in 393 games, 69 homers, 239 RBIs and 46 stolen bases. 바카라 Although his defense has been questioned and he lacks a pioneering eye, he is good at producing hits, strikes finely, and has slugging power and quick feet. Bisset is one of the key members of the current Toronto team.
