Busan IPark B team saved by captain Kang Youngwoong’s ’90th minute theater goal’

Busan B Team captain Kang Young-woong saved the day.

Busan IPark Futures (B Team) and Pyeongchang United Football Club played the 19th round of the 2023 K4 League at the Busan Asiad Auxiliary Stadium on April 8. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw with one goal apiece. Busan I-Park dropped one spot in the league standings to 10th place.

Pyeongchang took control of the game from the start. Pyeongchang utilized Martin’s speed to harass Busan B with long kick buildups. In the ninth minute of the first half, a long kick from Martin overcame the defense and led to a one-on-one situation with Busan B’s Lim Gi-mok, but he was called offside.

Pyeongchang, who kept the momentum going, struck first in the 27th minute. Lee Hyun-jo sent the ball high into the box, where Martin passed it to Kim Yong-tae, who scored an exquisite mid-range shot into the right side of the net to take the lead.

Busan B made changes at the start of the second half. Coach Kim Ki-gon removed Park Gun-hee, Choi Ye-hoon, and Lee Jung-yoon and introduced Lee Jung, Won Tae-rang, and Lee Hyun-joon as substitutes. In the 17th minute of the second half, he removed Yang Se-young and introduced Park Jung-in. Kim’s mercenary move worked. In the 18th minute, 메이저놀이터 Park threatened Pyeongchang’s goal with a flurry of activity, including a chance to steal the ball near the penalty box shortly after his substitution.

In the 45th minute, Busan B’s efforts finally paid off. Park Jung-in pressed hard on the right flank and forced a defensive mistake. He played the ball to Kang Young-woong, who was rushing forward. Kang easily slid the ball into the goal, rattling Pyeongchang’s net just before the end.

After the game, Busan B head coach Kim Kim-gon told the Korea Football Association, “We expected Pyeongchang to be physically tired in the second half. That’s why we put in fast players at the start of the second half.” Nevertheless, Kim Kim-gon said, “We played a good game as we prepared well, but in the end, soccer is won by scoring goals.” “I think we didn’t take full advantage of the chances we were given and ended up with a draw,” he said.

Kang Young-woong, the protagonist of the theater goal, said, “My heart was heavy because I missed a lot of chances throughout the game, but I’m glad I was able to score.”

“My personal goal is to score the most goals in the K4 League,” he said, adding, “I believe that if I achieve my goal, I will naturally go to a higher position. I want to keep my goal closer to me and do my best every day instead of looking far away.”
