‘Elbow to side’ Manshinchang Ohtani misses Shock’s 7th straight game…”Could play as early as the 12th,” says manager

Shohei Ohtani (29-LA Angels) was benched for the seventh straight game after suffering an elbow and then a side injury. He is expected to return to action on Wednesday.

Ohtani missed Game 4 of the Angels’ four-game home series against the 2023 Major League Baseball Cleveland Guardians at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, on Nov. 11. He hasn’t played in seven straight games, dating back to May 5 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Ohtani’s absence was due to injury. Ohtani injured his elbow while pitching against the Cincinnati Reds on March 24, forcing him to leave the game early. A medical examination revealed a right ulnar collateral ligament injury, and his pitching duties were suspended. After focusing exclusively on hitting, he complained of side pain during batting practice before the Baltimore game on May 5, and hasn’t taken the field since. Despite the manager’s prediction that he would be able to recover in “a day or two,” the injury has been prolonged.

Ohtani is expected to be available to play on April 12 against the Seattle Mariners. According to CBS Sports, “Ohtani missed his seventh straight game to manage his right lateral oblique. Add to that a torn medial collateral ligament in his right elbow that will likely require surgery, and Angels manager Phil Nevin said he expects Ohtani to return to the lineup as early as Wednesday against Seattle.”

The Angels, fourth in the American League West, won their second straight game without Ohtani, beating Cleveland 2-1. They wrapped up a four-game homestand with a 3-1 series lead.

The Angels opened the scoring in the first inning on a leadoff double by Randall Grichuk and a sacrifice fly by Mike Moustakas that scored Brandon Drury. He gave up a tying solo home run to Cole Calhoun in the second inning, but after a Karen Parris single and back-to-back walks in the third, Grichuk drove in the game-winning run with a single to center field. She went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to beat Cleveland, which had one run on eight hits. 카지노

Starter Kenny Rosenberg earned his emotional first big league win, going five innings and allowing one run on six hits (one homer) with four walks and one strikeout.

Central Division runner-up Cleveland, which lost its second straight, fell to 68-76. Starter Tanner Bybee suffered his fourth loss of the season (10) after being held to two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight. Multi-hit games from Jose Ramirez, Calhoun, and Andres Jimenez were not enough in the loss.
