I threw 157km…Moon Dong-ju, who didn’t like it, “There were too many balls”

Hanwha fireballer Moon Dong-ju (20) threw a fastball of up to 157km in the first appearance of the demonstration game, but he was not satisfied. The score he gave himself was only ’20 points’.

Moon Dong-joo started the demonstration game against Kiwoom in the 2023 KBO League at Daejeon Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park on the 18th and pitched well with 4 hits (1 home run), 2 walks, 4 strikeouts and 1 run in 3 innings. It was the pitch that laid the foundation for Hanwha’s 10-2 victory.

In the first inning, Lee Jeong-hoo’s high fastball in the middle of the 152km three-ball led to a superior solo home run, but the rest of the innings did not give up a run. In the 2nd inning, with 1 out and 1st and 2nd base, Ji-Young Lee got a hit to the left, but left fielder No Soo-Kwang’s accurate home throw escaped the risk of conceding a run.

In the 3rd inning, Jung-hoo Lee gave up a walk, but Dong-ju Moon, who put out the remaining 3 batters, was replaced after being hit by right-handed hit by Joo-hong Park, the first batter in the 4th inning. He threw a fast ball (33) with a maximum speed of 157 km and an average of 153 km g, striking out 4 in 3 innings, but it was regrettable that he allowed on-base every inning.

After the match, Moon Dong-ju also expressed regret. He said, “It was a game I threw in two weeks, but it was powerful, but it went in too much. That part he thinks will improve as he plays, but it was a pitch he didn’t like overall. I think it will help me prepare for the season because I know what I lacked.”

Moon Dong-ju, who lost two consecutive at-bats to Lee Jung-hoo with a home run in the first inning and a walk in the third, said, “I could definitely feel Lee Jung-hoo’s class.” He thought his fastball was good, but Seobae-nim hit it well. Even when he gave walks, about 3 balls came out of his hand. He is not an easy hitter to deal with, but it was disappointing.”  메이저사이트

Lee Jung-hoo’s next hitter, Edison Russell, struck out two consecutive at-bats. It was as if he was giving Russell a solution to what he had struggled with with Lee Jung-hoo. Regarding this, Moon Dong-ju said, “After doing that to Lee Jung-hoo, I did it with a new mind against Russell. So, the result came out like that, and there is nothing else.”

Moon Dong-ju, who gave himself a score of ’20’, said, “Honestly, it was pitching that I didn’t like very much. He had a lot of balls and had a bad count early on. It’s unfortunate, but I think he will gradually improve as he plays,” he promised to start after the exhibition game.
