Ohtani hits a grand slam with a 164-kilometer shot…but can’t stop his team from losing

Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels) hit a grand slam. But it wasn’t enough to prevent his team from losing.

Ohtani started in the No. 2 spot in the lineup and went 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored in the Angels’ home game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, USA, on Monday (April 19).

Ohtani led off the first inning with an infield single and scored on Mike Moustakas’ double to left-center. In the second inning, back-to-back singles by Hunter Renfroe and Luis Renhippo and a walk by Nolan Shanuel loaded the bases with two outs. He pulled a two-pitch fastball over the right field fence. The fastball hit a whopping 164.3 mph. He struck out swinging in the fifth and seventh innings. He struck out with runners on first and second in the ninth.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay defeated the Angels 9-6.

Tampa Bay’s starting lineup was Yandy Diaz-Randy Arozarena-Harold Ramirez-Isaac Paredes-Luke Reilly-Curtis Mead-Olevis Vasave-Josh Lowe-Rene Pinto. The Angels batted Nolan Shanuel, Shohei Ohtani, Brandon Drury, Mike Moustakas, Logan O’Hoffman, Mickey Moniak, Hunter Renfroe, Luis Renfroe, and Randall Grichuk.

Tampa Bay scored first in the bottom of the first inning on Ramirez’s single up the middle and Paredes’ double down the left field line. The Angels battled back in the bottom of the first, tying the game at 1-1 on an infield single by Ohtani and a double to left-center by Mustachus. With the bases loaded in the second inning, Ohtani hit a grand slam to center field for a 5-1 lead.

Tampa Bay was not done. Back-to-back RBI singles by Lowe and Pinto with runners on second and third in the fourth inning cut the deficit to three. In the fifth, Arozarena led off with a walk and Ramirez followed with an RBI double to tie the game at 5-5. Tampa Bay took a 6-5 lead in the seventh on Ramirez’s RBI single up the middle. The Angels then tied the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh on Drury’s RBI double.

Tampa Bay had runners on first and third in the ninth with back-to-back singles by Diaz and Arozarenas. But Ramirez’s triple ended the threat. Crisis after crisis, chance after chance. In the bottom of the ninth, the Angels loaded the bases with Renfroe drawing a walk. The Angels bench brought in pinch-hitter Andrew Velasquez, who stole second base as Grichuk batted. Grichuk grounded out to third. Shanuel reached on a fielder’s choice to put runners on the corners. Ohtani struck out and Drury followed with an infield grounder. 카지노사이트
