The power rankings, released on Friday (ET), show that the teams in the dreaded American League East remain strong. The San Diego Padres, the team of Kim Ha-seong and Choi Ji-man, moved up one spot from 21st to 20th. The Pittsburgh Pirates, with Bae Ji-hwan, jumped two spots from 25th to 23rd. The Boston Red Sox, who are in the same division as Toronto, dropped five spots to 17th due to their recent struggles.
