Spain defeated Croatia to win the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League title.
Spain won 5-4 on penalties to become the third consecutive champion after playing Croatia to a 0-0 draw in the final at Stadium Feyenoord in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on June 19 (ET).
Reaching the final of two consecutive tournaments, Spain avenged their runner-up finish at the previous edition.
It was also the first time they had lifted the trophy at a national tournament in 11 years since UEFA Euro 2012. Spain has previously won the 2010 World Cup and the 1964, 2008, and 2012 European Championships.
Croatia, on the other hand, fell two points short this time around. Despite a string of strong performances, including a runner-up finish at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and a third-place finish at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Croatians once again showed their limitations at the top of their game.
